Greece coronavirus lockdown imminent

Greek coronavirus lockdown imminent as the Prime Minister announces restriction plans.

Greece has announced on Saturday, October 31, that it will pursue the implementation of a partial lockdown across the country.

Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has said that the lockdown will come into place on Tuesday, October 3, and will last a minimum of a month due to the exponential rise in Covid-19 cases in the country

These new restrictions will see a curfew implemented between midnight and 5am with mask wearing being made compulsory both indoors and outdoors.

The new system will also see regions split into one of two categories, High Risk, or Under Surveillance zones.

The country, whose population totals 10.7 million, has recorded a total of 35,510 coronavirus cases and 615 deaths to date.
