Two young children and their mother found dead

TWO young children and their mother found dead in their home in Dublin

The bodies of Seema Banu and her children, Affira, 11, and Fazan, 6, were discovered in their home on Llewellyn Court in Dublin on Wednesday, October 28.

Gardaí said that the two children, who were found face down in a bedroom had been murdered by strangulation. Post-mortem results which will determine if Ms Banu was murdered are expected on Friday, October 30.

According to the Irish Times, Ms Banu’s body was discovered with a ligature and a note, and foul play has not been ruled out at this point.

Gardaí were alerted by neighbours on Wednesday morning as they had not seen the family for a number of days and the blinds were drawn.

Gardaí arrived on the scene just after midday and found the remains of Ms Banu and her children.

It is understood they had been dead for some time and a tap had been left running, flooding the property.

No arrests have so far been made and Supt Paul Reidy of Blackrock Garda station said the results of the post-mortem examinations on the remains of Ms Banu and her children would dictate the nature of the investigation.
