VILLAJOYOSA HOSPITAL: Centralised testing for Marina Baja schoolchildren Photo credit: CCOO del Pais Valenciano
THE Marina Baja Health Department is centralising school-children’s PCR tests at Villajoyosa hospital. All pupils from Marina Baja towns who have been in contact with a positive Covid-19 case at school or during organised sports or cultural activities will now go there to be tested. The Health authorities have installed a rented prefab in the hospital car park so that pupils can remain in their vehicle while nurses take the necessary swabs. This will speed up the appointments system and the actual carrying out of tests, Marina Baja Health Department sources explained. They added that this means that the area’s health centres will be able to concentrate on patients displaying coronavirus symptoms.
