SCHOOLGIRL, 14, ‘secretly gives birth and hides the baby from her parents in the freezer’

A 14-year-old schoolgirl, named only as Anastasia, gave birth in secret to a baby boy in her home in Russia. She allegedly told paramedics that she hid “the child from the adults in the freezer.”

Anastasia’s mother called emergency services when she heard the girl “moaning” in the night and was worried she was suffering from appendicitis. But the schoolgirl confessed to medics in the ambulance that she had recently given birth, according to Novoibirsk region ombudsman Madezhda Boltenko.

Speaking about the “terrible case,” Ms Boltenko said: “Her mum heard her moaning at night and thought her daughter was suffering from appendicitis.

“The girl confessed to paramedics she had given birth and hidden the child from the adults in the freezer.”

She added that the girl is now in hospital in a “serious condition” and will be treated there until the teen is able to be questioned.

An official from the Russian Investigative Committee said “all the circumstances of the infant’s death” are being checked by detectives.
