One teen dead, another injured in broad daylight shooting in NYC

ONE teen is dead and another injured after a shooting in New York City in broad daylight.

Two teenagers were shot by a lone gunman as they walked on a quiet Brooklyn street in front of a daycare centre on Wednesday, October 28, police officials said.

Police from the 67th precinct received a call at 2:30 p.m. for two people shot in front of 436 East 26th Street, which is the Heather’s Hand’s Child Care Center in Flatbush.

A 17-year-old was shot once in the chest and once in the face. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital but died shortly afterward.

A 16-year-old suffered a bullet wound to the arm, and was taken to the same hospital in stable condition, cops said.

“They’re talking to this kid now,” a police spokesman said. “Hopefully, he’s able to reveal something.”

A third teen was with them but was not hit in the shooting. Investigators say they are looking for a heavy set male Hispanic, wearing all black including a black ski mask who fled east on Newkirk Avenue.

Police found a handgun and spent shells covered in blood at the scene, but have not confirmed that it is the murder weapon.
