Man City mourns the tragic death of former academy player Jeremy Wisten

MANCHESTER CITY mourns the tragic death of their former academy player Jeremy Wisten who has sadly passed away aged 18.

Tributes flooded in for the young defender, who joined City’s elite development squad in 2016 before recently leaving the club.

A statement made by the club on Twitter, read: “The Manchester City family are saddened to learn of the passing of former Academy player Jeremy Wisten. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.”

Man City players and fans weren’t the only ones to mourn the tragic death of former academy player Jeremy Wisten.

Former Chelsea defender, Frank Sinclair wrote: “RIP Jeremy Wisten another sad day for football, something has to be done for the duty of aftercare for young Professional and Academy footballers in the game. Be it education, job opportunities, a pathway back in the game or just as basic as interaction and communication.”

Early reports indicate that the teenager, born in Malawi but raised in the United Kingdom, lost his battle with depression on Sunday, October 25.

We send our thought and prayers to the family and friends of the young man.
