Harry Styles announces ‘significant’ investment in music venue

HARRY Styles branches out into the business world with investment in new music venue

The One Direction band member and solo artist announced on Monday, October 26 that he has invested a “significant figure” in what is set to become the UKs largest ever indoor music arena.

Manchester’s £350 million Co-op Live boasts 23’500 seats, greater than London’s 20’000-seater O2 Arena, and is set to open in 2023.

Styles told the Financial Times that the business proposition interests him as he feels he can bring something to the project. “When an opportunity like this comes up, for me it feels so much about what I can bring to it as a musician, and also as a fan,” he said.

Speaking of his excitement about the arena, Styles called Manchester a “music city” and said the investment “very much feels like coming home”.

Construction on the arena is set to begin next month, and bring more than 3,500 jobs to Manchester, which is currently facing Tier 3 Covid-19 restrictions.
