Christmas 2020 will be like no other

Christmas 2020 will be like no other according to a Scottish health Boss.

A Scottish health boss has spoken out warning Scots to prepare for a ´digital celebration´ at Christmas as we head into a tough winter ahead.

Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director, said a ´normal´ Christmas  is off the cards this year and hopes to have large family gatherings were dashed as he said the idea was ´fiction´ and families should “get their digital Christmas ready”

The disappointing news comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced on Wednesday, October 21, that she was extending the countries circuit breaker by an extra week with a 5-tier system being put in place replacing the current restrictions.

Leitch told Good morning Scotland “We are not going to be in large family groupings, with multiple families coming round, that is fiction for this year. ‘I’m hopeful that if we can get numbers down to a certain level we may be able to get some form of normality. But people should get their digital Christmas ready.”

Willy Rennie, Scottish Liberal Democrats Leader, has called for a debate on the issue saying,” People have made huge sacrifices for months on end, they will be devastated to hear that Christmas as they know it is canceled this year”

“Many will rightly question whether the government has used the past six months as well as they could have to expand testing, shore up our NHS, and prepare for a second wave.”
