Walking tour
FRIGILIANA Council has highlighted the work of local tour guide Maria José Caravaca who decided to become self-employed and set up Frigiliana Tours in July of this year after coming out of lockdown and looking for a new project.
Motril music
ANXIOUS to assist an area that has been badly hit by the pandemic, Motril Council is supporting regular music events and on November 7, actor and singer Fran Perea from Malaga City will appear at the Teatro Calderon.
Safer building
A NEW automatic defibrillator has been installed in the Torre del Mar Tourist Office as the Council remembers that coronavirus is not the only health problem facing the population and this will help make buildings safer.
Pedestrian street
THE Nerja Council is now finalising plans to transform the Calle Diputación into a pedestrian street at a budgeted cost of €399,300 of which €300,000 will, they hope, come from Malaga Province funds once the proposal is approved.
Halloween banned
THE Salobreña Council has issued an order to prohibit the celebration of Halloween this year to avoid crowds so that the handing out of sweets on a door to door basis, as well as parades, parties and Halloween events are prohibited.
IBI payments
ACTING within existing regulations, the Almuñecar Council will allow local residents to pay their IBI (property tax) on a staggered basis as it is understood that many local home owners have seen their income greatly reduced by the pandemic.
