Highest Monthly Figures for Hospital Admissions and New COVID Cases in Spain’s Malaga

Malaga has registered its highest number of infected and hospitalized Covid cases in the last month.

New figures just released reveal that patients in hospitals tripled compared to the end of August, while those admitted to the ICU increased fivefold. Today’s total of new infections for Malaga are 368, although there are provinces in Andalusia that have reported higher numbers, such as Seville with 864, Granada with 703 and Jaén with 531.

The last time Malaga had those sort of figures was on the 22nd and 23rd of September when 547 and 511 cases were confirmed respectively. The Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía reports 218 hospitalized in Malaga health centres, of which 29 are in Intensive Care due to the severity of their condition.

Deaths in Malaga due to the disease remain at 463 since the pandemic broke out seven months ago, with the number of people who have recovered from the disease now standing at 12,086.
