Sales of thermal clothing booming in the UK

SALES of thermal clothing have been booming in recent weeks, as UK residents hope that restrictions clear in time for them to socialise in the winter snow.

Since the latest round of lockdowns was announced, women’s clothing brand, ACAI Outdoorwear, has reported a 2,400% increase in orders for its winter thermal clothing range, as winter could be coming early this year!

In fact, following announcements of the tiered lockdown system, the North Wales womenswear company processed over 4,000 orders for its ‘Thermal Skinny Outdoor Trousers’ – leading it to stop advertising of its winter warming clothing so it has time to fulfil existing orders!

In previous years most of its thermal-buying customers were aged 45 and over, however, this year the company states that women aged 25-34 are driving the new growth in sales.

In a statement from ACAI Outdoorwear, Kasia Bromley said: “Whilst we would expect to see an increase in demand for our thermal products at this time of year, last week’s figures far exceeded that of which we have ever before seen.

“Customers [have been] telling us they’re investing in order to be able to spend more time outdoors, not just walking and enjoying the countryside but, where restrictions allow, socialising alfresco with family and friends,” she concluded.
