Disney’s Bob Iger invests in vegan company Perfect Day

DISNEY’S Executive Chairman Bob Iger invests in vegan company Perfect Day and will also join the board.

Igor, who began his new role at Disney in February after relinquished his CEO title earlier this year, is said to be interesting in new ventures to invest in and with the popularity of plant-based or meatless foods increasing in recent years, this seems to be a great move.

The 69-year-old will share a seat on the Perfect Day board along with co-founders Ryan Pandya and Perumal Gandhi, with the company acknowledging the announcement by staying: “We’re focused on rapid commercialisation in the U.S. and globally. But we know we can’t do it alone.”

Perfect Day aims to make dairy products without using animals in an effort to create a more sustainable product, cutting out factory farming, lactose, hormones and antibiotics.

Iger, who served on the board of Apple Inc. for eight years, will be a welcomed addition to the Bay Area startup company as they set out on their journey, as an emailed statement from the co-founders reveals:

“We look forward to learning from his decades of visionary leadership experience as we navigate our next stage of growth and create a new category of animal-free dairy.”
