Newlywed couple captured posing on railway tracks for wedding pictures

A NEWLYWED couple were captured on CCTV dangerously posing on some railway tracks for their wedding pictures.

According to reports, this was one of a staggering 5,000 incidents of railway trespassing caught on CCTV between June and September.

Back in July, Hollyoaks actor Ellis Hollins posted images from a railway photoshoot and had to apologise, branding his own actions as “irresponsible” and that he was “careless to take part in such a dangerous situation”.

The TV star is now an advocate and supporter of a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of the railway.

Network Rail’s Allan Spence said: “Wedding photos or selfies on the track are just plain stupidity.

“Please, make sure you know the rail safety basics and pass that knowledge onto your loved ones. Lead by example and stay off the tracks.”

In September, a total of 1,239 were captured on CCTV, which means a rise of 17 per cent year-on-year, the most for in September in the past five years.

The dangers are definitely real, as on Tuesday October 20, a girl was killed on a railway track and a 17-year-old is in hospital in Nottingham.
