Catalonia registers 2,471 cases and 7 more deaths

CATALONIA registers 2,471 cases and 7 more deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, with 839 people currently in hospital and 157 of those in the ICU.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat, Catalonia has registered a total of 182’091 confirmed covid cases. The total death toll for the region now stands at 13’470.

The figure of 839 current hospitalizations represents a reduction of 18 since the last count, while the number of those in ICU remains the same.

In an attempt to monitor the numbers more closely, the Catalan government decided on April 10 to include information on deaths from funeral homes relating to care homes, private homes, health facilities etc., rather than hospitals only. With this new information, the Ministry reports that the total death toll for the region stands at 13,470 since the beginning of the pandemic.
