LIBERATED: Firefighters rescue trapped dog Photo credit: Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos
FIREFIGHTERS from the Benidorm brigade rescued a dog trapped in a crevice two metres below ground in Alfaz. Two people who were out walking spotted the dog as they were hiking in the El Romeral area and rang the Emergency Services on the 112 number. Firefighters despatched from Benidorm managed to extract the dog which by then was exhausted by its unsuccessful efforts to escape from the hole where it is believed to have fallen some hours earlier. The dog is now in the care of Alfaz’s Policia Local who said that it is in good condition but does not have a microchip and at the time of writing has not been claimed by its owner.
