THE standard of play was impressively high in the Cabrera Lawn Bowls Club internal competitions staged over recent weeks.
The first competitions were the Ladies Lomax Singles and the Gents Redington Singles.
The entry levels were pretty top level this year due to members not being able to go to the UK for the summer, the club reported.
Both winners, Sandra Marriott and Colin (Deano) Jones, were on great form.

This year was Colin’s fourth final and the first he has won, while Sandra has won this title several times in the past.
The following competition was the Singles Summer Set Play.
This comprises of two sets of nine ends. If the sets are drawn then a three end decider is played.
The winner of this year’s Set Play was Bob Craig against Colin Rowling, with the match going to the tiebreak three ends. Bob won two of the three ends and therefore the final.
