The Youth Council of Santa Pola is set to launch an online video game league, so get your controllers ready as it’s about to get competitive. THE Santa Pola Youth Council, through Racó Jove, has collaborated with Grupo Telecable to bring the youngsters of the area an online video game league, for four consecutive weekends of competitive virtual competitions. The “Santa Pola Online League” will host the tournaments on Saturdays for the four weeks and begin on October 17, ending on November 7, and are set to be held from 6pm to 9pm. Due to Covid-19, the yearly tradition of the Santa Pola Lan Party will be replaced by this game playing initiative, and will be complemented by an educational offer of online talks on 3D animations, games and environments, to be offered by Primer Frame. The popularity of online gaming, E-sports and virtual tournaments is becoming big business for many companies around the world with some competitors earning millions, and viewerships even exceeding many sporting events. Those that wish to participate in the game playing extravaganza must register for free on the website, which you can find by clicking the link. Participants can choose from four different online tournaments; Brawl Stars, Fifa20, Fortnite and League of Legends. Tournaments will be broadcast live, with different material prizes for the winners, and a raffle of gifts for all those registered.
