Piers Morgan Has Taken Aim Again At Matt Hancock

Piers Morgan has taken aim again at Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, over his stance refusing to appear on Good Morning Britain to be interviewed.

Hancock has not appeared on the show to answer questions or be interviewed for 146 days. Morgan and his co-host, Susanna Reid, believe this is due to Mr Hancock not wanting to have to answer tough questions on the current coronavirus climate and the UK Government’s response.

Morgan took to twitter to vent his frustrations branding Hancock “gutless” and stating the Hancock went out his way to ensure that they wouldn’t meet in the studio corridors.

This Morning presenters, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willouby, have also been accused of giving the Health Secretary and easy ride and not confronting the bigger issues with enough force.

When Mr Hancock arrived in the This Morning studio, Willouby said, “It’s nice to be talking to you in person and not down a screen, we did think about getting the cuddle curtain out but we thought that might be hugely inappropriate,”

Mr Hancock also stoked further fury when he confessed that he was sleeping well despite the incredible crisis taking over the UK and the wider world.

When questioned about how he protects himself from the stresses of his job, Mr Hancock admitted, “I am actually sleeping OK. I don’t get much time off, but the reason that is OK is I get up in the morning, do everything I possibly can, and try to make the best judgements”
