THE Sub-delegation of the Government in Malaga will distribute 532,000 masks this week to the town halls of the Malaga province and social entities.
With this new distribution, the third since April, the Government of Spain has already distributed more than one and a half million masks in Malaga, specifically 1,521,000.
Municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants in Malaga will receive 363,500 masks, while another 60,500 will be delivered to the Provincial Council for distribution to municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. In addition, the Red Cross, Cáritas and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (Cermi) will receive a total of 108,000 masks (36,000 each).
The Malaga towns with more than 20,000 inhabitants to which the markers will be distributed are Alhaurín de la Torre (10,500), Alhaurín el Grande (6,500), Antequera (10,500), Benalmádena (17,500), Cártama (6,500), Coín (5,500), Estepona (17,500), Fuengirola (20,500), Málaga (146,500), Marbella (36,500), Mijas (21,000), Nerja (5,500), Rincón de la Victoria (12,000), Ronda (8,500), Torremolinos (17,500) and Vélez-Málaga (21,000).
The sub-delegate of the Government in Malaga, Teófilo Ruiz, has indicated that the distribution of 532,000 masks this week is “a new action of collaboration and support to local entities and social organisations so that residents, especially those with fewer resources, can maintain the measures of safety and wear adequate protection ”.
“The use of the mask is mandatory,” he stressed, “so I appeal to the responsibility of all residents to comply with the established safety standards and carry adequate protection.”
Ruiz Municio has highlighted the effort made by the Government of Spain, which with this action will have delivered more than 1.5 million masks in the province of Malaga. Thus, this distribution of 532,000 masks this week is added to the two previous ones carried out in April and May in which this material was distributed in the transport areas of the province – metro and bus stops, both urban and metropolitan, as well as in stations of railway, bus stations and airport.
They were also delivered to the municipalities of the province and to various groups and associations such as the Press Association, taxi driver associations, social groups, food markets, bar associations, the Taxi or Justice sector.
In Spain, the Government will distribute from this Monday a total of 15 million masks with the aim of supporting local entities and the neediest families, coinciding with the opening of the school year.
Specifically, the government delegations and sub-delegations will distribute 12,000,000 masks to the municipalities. The rest, 3,000,000, will be delivered to the Red Cross, Caritas and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities, which in turn, will make them reach the neediest groups.
