Even the rain could not dampen the spirits of Ruby’s Golf Society as they returned to action, taking part in a Trophy game in Vistabella.

AFTER postponements and long periods without being able to play due to the coronavirus pandemic, golfers of Ruby’s Golf Society must have been fearing the worst as the heavens opened.
Thankfully, the rainfall did not last long although it did manage to soak all 32 players at the event on Friday, September 18.
The weather did not cause too many wayward shots as the golfers returned some very good scores.
Here is a list of the winners on the day:
Nearest the pins on the par 3’s: Nigel Wright, Michelle Evans and Peter List, nearest the pin in two was Terry Brooker.
The silver division winner was Andrew Jones with 38 points, second was George Marshall Deane with 33 pts, third was Roger Van Herck with 32 pts.
Gold and overall winner was Peter list, with a handicap cutting 40 points score for someone who plays off of 9.
Second was Walter Millar with 39 pts and finishing third was Michelle Evans with 35 pts.
Despite the bad weather, the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The golfers headed back to O’Brien’s bar for their presentation where the prizes were provided by Roger and Sonia Van Herck, who kindly sponsored the day.
Ruby’s Golf Society will play their next game at Font del Llop, for any further information email us at: rubysgolf@yahoo.co.uk.
