THE COVID-19 crisis continues in Catalonia and remains to be the main focus of the news for its unstoppable advance here in Spain. The recorded figures are getting worse, which has made the Community of Madrid carry out ‘selective confinements’ of the areas with the worst numbers.

Catalonia registered 1,345 cases and 11 deaths in the last 24 hours.

129,656 with a PCR test- until this Sunday, September 20, 1,345 more than in the count on Saturday, September 19, reports the Ministry of Health on its website.

The total death toll amounts to 13,233, which is 11 more than those registered on Saturday: 8,040 in hospital or social-health centre, 4,181 in residence, 838 at home, and 174 that are not classifiable due to lack of information.

As for the patients currently admitted, the figure stands at 754, which represents an increase of 35 compared to the previous count.

A total of 124 patients are admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), 3 less than in the previous balance.

So far in nursing homes, there have been 18,097 people who have tested positive, of which 6,500 have died and 34 are currently admitted.
