An old fire station will soon get a new lease of life as the empty venue is set to be renovated and repurposed.
THE fire station in Estepona, a tourist town located on the Costa del Sol, is being made into basketball courts.
Mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has revealed that works are only a month away from being completed.
A local basketball club, Club de Amigos del Baloncesto, are paying for, and carrying out, the works using club funds with the built-in condition that they are able to use the venue for free.
Two mini basketball courts as well as a full-size court are being built.
Around 200 members and the general public will be able to enjoy the courts once works are completed.
