Figures show 5,286 people were detained for attempting to skip the State of Alarm

During what was a tense and nerve-wracking time for many, when the State of Alarm was raised by Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, some decided it was time to skip the country.

IN data provided by the government to the Senator of Compromís Carles Mulet, figures show that the National Police and Guardia Civil detained 5,286 people for attempting to escape the State of Alarm.

The figures, necessitated after a State of Alarm was brought on by the Covid-19 health crisis, were collected until June 20.

They also revealed 624,846 sanctions were registered against people.

Andalucia was the community with the most detainees, with a total of 1,094.

Followed by Madrid with 1,068 and 922 in the Valencian Community.
