MARBELLA mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has held meetings with members of the Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection and DYA to discuss the ongoing Covid-19 situation and address the application of the decree on leisure venues.

There are 30 representatives from these groups on the streets who are carrying out checking work to ensure social distancing and people are following of the latest rules as well as distributing masks in areas with large numbers of tourists from tourist 8pm to 2am.

Local Police are calling at the homes of those who are self-isolating to ensure that they are observing the quarantine whilst Civil Protection and the Red Cross are increasing the number of trackers to locate those who have been in contact with carriers so that it can be determined, as soon as possible, if those people who are positive or not.

According to the mayor, the good news is that the number of people being treated for the infection in the municipality compared to March is very low with just one person in intensive care although this is no excuse to relax in monitoring of the situation.
