Fuengirola, Malaga: Creeper on the Costa del Sol arrested Credit: Twitter @chiemalaga
A creeper on the Costa del Sol has been arrested for spying on holidaymakers staying at his rental apartment in Spain’s Fuengirola. The detainee has been identified as a 37-year-old Argentinian man.
The detainee was arrested for crimes against intimacy and privacy. The man owns a rental property for tourists in the town of Fuengirola where he had installed video-recording cameras to monitor his tenants.
The victims who filed a report argued that they found a working video-recording camera in the apartment. The dome-type camera could rotate automatically and film the living room as well as part of the bathroom. The National Police was informed of the issue after the holidaymakers contacted the landlord about their suspicions of being spied on. The landlord just evaded all claims and responsibility.
The couple had their suspicions after a few relatives came over to visit. Shortly after their visit, they received a visit from the landlord explaining that they had too many people in the flat and that it could not happen again.
The investigation carried out by the officers confirmed that the camera was recording and accessible to anyone with the access codes. The person responsible for the house was arrested for his alleged responsibility in a crime against privacy.
