Arrests made after a wave of robberies in Torrevieja

The Guardia Civil have made three arrests in Torrevieja after a wave of robberies had been committed on establishments within the area.

Two men and a woman were arrested for their alleged involvement in thefts from a number of properties.

Money was stolen from all but one of the properties, which included a hospitality establishment, a 24-hour store, a restaurant in the Marina and a business premises on one of the towns central streets.

The last crime occurred on July 29.

The investigators initially managed to identify the two men as the alleged perpetrators, who are known to be habitual criminals in Torrevieja, to two of the crimes, before linking them, and the woman, to two more robberies following further investigation into cases of a similar nature that were still unresolved.

Four crimes in total have been tied to the detainees, although each person was charged with varying degrees of involvement.

The two men were imprisoned after standing before the Magistrate Judge in Torrevieja. The woman has been charged and released.
