TOURISM is one of the mainstays of the economy of Benalmadena and Mayor Victor Navas is also Councillor for Tourism so met with the management of the Alay hotel on the occasion of its reopening on Friday, July 31.

He heard for himself the difficulties they have had in meeting their financial obligations with a very low number of reservations and occupancy and assured them that the council would do all that it can to help continue to trade.

In anticipation of reopening, the hotel has established measures such as hand washing systems, social distance measures at the entrance to the restaurant and at the reception, ozone disinfection of the bedding in the rooms and staff uniforms, installation of a UVA ray system in the air conditioning to guarantee its disinfection, provision of a space to receive merchandise from suppliers which will be disinfected with ozone.

According to the mayor, the Alay hotel is one of the symbols of tourism in the municipality and it is good news to see it open again.
