A MAN has died of his injuries after being injured in an electrical explosion in Sevilla, Spain.
A 53-year-old electrical technician who was seriously injured last Thursday in an explosion at a transformation plant on Calle Ontur in Sevilla has sadly died in hospital after failing to recover from his injuries.
Sources from the Electrical supplier Endesa have informed Efe that the technician died last night at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital, he had been transferred there when his wounds worsened after being initially admitted to the Virgen Macarena. Health emergencies, Local Police, and firefighters moved to the area and evacuated the wounded man, who was working as an Endesa subcontractor carrying out repairs on the power station.
The accident occurred at 18.15 when several calls alerted that an explosion had occurred in Calle Ontur, in the Alcosa park area. Severe shock and first-degree burns are normally the results of electrical burns although the hospital would not comment on the actual cause of the man’s death.
