Torrevieja has launched a beach campaign to boost tourism and to give the town’s economy a much-needed boost.
FIVE information tents have been strategically placed on the four main beaches in the town to promote the commercial and tourism sectors and incentives.
Two are located at the main accesses to La Mata beach, with the others on the beaches of Los Locos, El Cura and Los Naufragos.
The Councillor for Commerce, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, together with the coordinator of the department, José Rubio, and the president of Apymeco, Jorge Almarcha, launched the campaign in the Plaza de la Constitución yesterday, Tuesday, July 14.
Martínez Chazarra said “the objective is to help local trade, after the stoppage by the State of Alarm caused by Covid-19, showing visitors that Torrevieja’s trade is safe and each client is unique and special”.
Two members of staff in each tent will provide information about the commercial, hospitality, tourist, sports and cultural sectors, in addition to real-time information on the beaches and their use.
In addition, the Association of Small and Medium Traders and Professionals of Torrevieja (Apymeco) has launched a photographic contest inviting the public to take snapshots in or around the tents, with the chance to scoop one of 10 prizes of €100.
