A NEW film by the Malaga director Macarena Astorga, named ‘La Casa del Caracol,’ has begun filming and includes many settings and landscapes from the Axarquia region.

Since the director has chosen natural ‘sets’, locations as different as the cliffs of Maro-Cerro Gordo and the Pyrenees of Axarquia, in Alfarnatejo, appear in the film. They have even stopped at the Mondron district. The director wanted to show the different variety of landscapes, and avoid the typical beach movies filmed on the Costa del Sol.
The budget for this film, which marks the debut in the direction of Macarena Astorga, the psychological horror-thriller ‘La Casa del Caracol,’ amounts to €2.4 million.
