Motril opens ‘Playa Can’ so your puppy pals can enjoy some fun in the sun in Spain’s Axarquia

MOTRIL Town Hall will allow the access of dogs from the limited area of Playa El Cable to the canine beach, after a month in which the area has been temporarily reserved exclusively for bathers to increase the capacity.

The municipal services have prepared the space known as Playa Can and installed the corresponding separation elements, with the aim of delimiting the area reserved for pet owners.

At the same time, the town hall reminds users of the obligation to abide by the rules for the use of Can Beach, included in the Municipal Ordinance that regulates the correct use of the beaches of the Motril coast. The owners are also obliged to carry the documentation of the animal in order and to collect the excrement of the animals and deposit them in the bins. Potentially dangerous dogs must wear an approved muzzle and nervous dogs must be on a leash. Similarly, all animals must be permanently controlled by their owners, who will also be responsible for damage caused by the animal.
