The National Police in Spain’s Madrid has arrested a 30-year-old Romanian man who was caught after he tried to rape a 25-year-old Peruvian woman in a playground in Madrid.

The incident took place on Monday night at around 11:30 p.m. in a playground in the San Blas district of Madrid.

The police received a call from a neighbour who said he could see the man being sexually forced by a man near the swings located near Calle Alcala.

She reportedly screamed for help and was trying to flee from the sexual predator.

The two were not a couple but they had agreed to meet up a few minutes before to take a walk around the neighbourhood. They reportedly sat down on a bench in the park until he began to try and immobilise her and rape her.

Police officers from the San Blas-Vicalvaro police station caught the offender in action and arrested him. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for physical and emotional evaluation.
