TEMPERATURES could reach 40C over the next couple of days on Spain’s Costa Almeria coast and inland in the Almanzora Valley as the first heatwave of the summer sweeps in.
Hot air from the Sahara is pushing up the thermometers. Meteorologists predict the heat will peak in the province on Wednesday.
From Thursday onwards the temperatures are expected to start dipping in Almeria, with a somewhat fresher weekend on the horizon.
The Almanzora Valley and the Levante regions are forecast to escape the worst of a new heatwave which will hit much of southern and central Spain from Sunday onwards.
