Today, a total of 32 immigrants have been located arriving at various points of Costa Blanca’s coast.

The immigrants arrived on three separate boats, the first of which was located at approximately 6:05 a.m. on Calle Sol Naciente in the Albufereta area in Alicante.

In total 13 people were found already on Spanish soil and news sources confirm that they have been taken to the provincial police station as well as the Red Cross centre in Alicante.

Another boat, with seven immigrants, was located at 7:05 a.m. in the Moncayo area in Guardamar del Segura and that group has now been transferred to the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja.

Finally, at around 10:00 a.m., another boat was located with another 12 occupants on board in the Cabo Roig area of Orihuela Costa.

Illegal immigration during the health crisis has become a sensitive issue in Spain. The largest outbreak of coronavirus in Andalucia, since the end of the state of alarm, began at a Red Cross Centre in Malaga and has now caused almost 100 new cases.
