Villanueva de Algaidas, a village in Costa del Sol’s Malaga, has proven its solidarity with the LGTBQ community after three neighbours complained about the flags being exhibited in celebration of pride day.

THE village, which is close to Antequera, received several complaints from neighbours after the town hall displayed a rainbow flag on their building in support of the LGBTQ community.

The three neighbours who went to the Guardia Civil to denounce the town hall demanded that the flag be removed immediately.

The news spread across the village like wildfire and a young villager decided to take to social media and encourage residents to display these flags from the balconies of their own homes.

So far, there are 402 homes which proudly display the LGBTQ flag from their balconies – a right kick in the teeth to the three grumpy and angered neighbours who decided to report the town hall in the first place.
