Supporting Pride on June 28 Credit: Antonio Benítez Twitter
PSOE Councillor, Antonio Benítez put forward a request to the Estepona Council for the flying of the Rainbow (LGTBI) flag on the roundabout that usually flies the European Union flag.
He argued that this would show the municipalities support of LGTBI issues and would be likely to encourage an upsurge in tourism from members of those groups.
Although the proposal was rejected, by way of compromise, the mayor agreed that it should be flown on Sunday June 28 which is celebrated as the Day of Pride.
