Councillor from Spain’s Right-Wing Party Vox Arrested For Defrauding a Gold Trading Shop in Cataluña

Sergio Concepcion, a councillor for Spain’s right-wing party, Vox, has been arrested for allegedly participating in a conspiracy to defraud shop owners in Catalonia.

Sergio Concepcion, the councillor for Vox in Salt, (Girones, Catalonia) was arrested at the end of last week for defrauding a gold trading store on Calle Mestre Francisc Civil, next to the Punxa de Girona. Eight other individuals have also been arrested as part of the police operation.

The Mossos began their investigation in March and discovered that the person in charge of the establishment was stealing jewellery which the franchise had bought. She would then take these valuable items and give them to people she knew so that they could sell them on.

Concepcion is being accused of having partnered with the woman in charge of the shop and defrauding the franchise owners of around €9,000.

Between June 10 and 12, the police arrested a total of eight people, five women and three men all residents of the surrounding area for crimes of continued fraud.
