Two arrested after fire breaks out in Rincon de la Victoria in Spain’s Axarquia region

A MINOR and a woman were arrested this Tuesday in Rincon de la Victoria for their alleged involvement in a fire next to an urbanisation in La Cala del Moral. According to sources, several residents saw both people in the area seconds before the fire broke out in an area of scrub and olive trees located in front of a block of flats.

At 19.05 p.m., several people called 112 to report that there was a fire near Calle Sierra de Ronda and that flames were seen within 200 metres of some homes. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished around 11 p.m.

Sources have stated that the detainees assure that the flames have been produced accidentally when they were smoking in an abandoned farmhouse in the area. Several residents in nearby blocks recorded with their mobile phones the two individuals leaving the area where the fires started.
