Torrox Town Hall offer relief to local residents with Tax cuts in Spain’s Axarquia

LOCAL administrations continue to try to reduce the financial pressure on residents to offset the effects of the economic crisis.

Torrox Town Hall announced at the end of last week that it will apply a reduction in fiscal pressure to businesses, self-employed workers and residents of around €1 million for the next financial year.

The greater economic effort of the town hall affects the Real Estate Tax (IBI), which in a few months will experience a second reduction. It was reduced by 2 per cent in the budgets for this year and, on this occasion, a new reduction of 5 per cent will be applied. Thus, on two consecutive occasions, Oscar Medina from the PP government team discussed how they will reduce the IBI by 7 per cent, remaining at a tax rate of 0.63. It also proposed to reduce the tax on vehicles by 15 per cent on all receipts, a reduction that will aid families with various vehicles by giving them a considerable saving.
