ACCORDING to eyewitness reports, up to a total of six containers were set alight on Wednesday morning in Velez-Malaga town centre. Specifically, those located in Plaza de Las Indias and Calle Reñidero.
The proximity between both areas suggests that it was the work of an arsonist, something that is not new in the area, since precisely one year ago, in July 2019, there were several consecutive nights where containers were burned. At that time, the Local Police managed to apprehend a suspect.
The fires last night occurred around 4am precisely minutes after another fire was registered in an area next to the Los Zamoranos industrial estate.
