UK: Huge Queues Pictured outside Primark as Chain Reopens 153 Branches

AS non-essential shops reopened across England today, there was a scrabble for one particular retailer.

The nation’s favourite clothing store, Primark once again opened its doors in 153 branches today to be met with surprising scenes.

Although a huge number of shoppers were expected, the reality was very different than imagined.

In branches in London’s Oxford Street and Birmingham’s city centre, fans swarmed around store entrances, without regard for social distancing.

Things became so chaotic at a Liverpool Primark that it was forced to open its shutters early.

In typical British fashion, shoppers had been queuing outside Primark’s doors across the country since 6am this morning, forcing some of the chain’s stores to open early to avoid overcrowding.

A total of 153 Primark stores open today, with 2m social distancing and one-way queues in place to protect staff and shoppers.
