UK: easyJet Boss says Full Planes are 100% Safe as Flights Resume

BOSS of easyJet, Johan Lundgren has said today that he would feel “100 per cent safe” flying on a full plane.

The comment was made as airlines resumed a limited service after a hiatus of almost three months.

Lundgren said easyJet had followed international guidelines for health and safety ahead of resuming flights today.

The measures include passengers and crew being asked to wear masks and regularly deep-cleaning the cabin.

However, despite calls for middle seats to be placed out of service to allow for social distancing, this has not happened.

“That was a proposal early on from one of the regulators,” Mr Lundgren said today.

“But the recommendations that have come out from international authorities… which are also supported by the different local regulators do not include social distancing measures on board the aircraft.”
