More access to Altea’s l’Espigo beach without any extra cost to the town hall

NEW ACCESS: Work in progress at the l’Espigo beach, credit: Altea town hall

ALTEA is to have another entrance to the L’Espigo beach, announced Infrastructures councillor Roque Ferrer.
It will give direct access to l’Espigo from the section of promenade that links the Garganes stream and the Algar river-mouth. This has been carried out following repeated requests from residents wanting to reach the beach from this part of the seafront.
“Work should be finished by the start of the summer season and in any case it will have neither visual nor environmental impact,” Ferrer said.
“Having received several requests for a new access to the l’Espigo and after studying the zone and the different possibilities, we approached the central government, ” he continued.
The new access will not involve any cost for Altea Town Hall as this will be carried out by the coastal authority Costas which is responsible for work carried out along the seashore and the maritime strip.
