France reports a new low in Covid fatalities on Sunday as President Macron addresses the nation

THE French Ministry of Health reported the welcome news of a new low in Covid deaths on Sunday with only nine fatalities in hospitals registered, 15 less than on Saturday.

Fatalities in France stand at 29,407 with infections rising to 157,220, which shows an increase of 407 from the previous day. In hospitals, the death toll is 19,023 and in nursing homes is 10,350

President Macron spoke to the nation on Sunday evening via a televised address where he detailed an accelerated plan for the country’s third phase of deconfinement which would allow cafes, bars and restaurants to open fully from today (Monday). On a positive note, 72,849 people have recovered in France from the virus and have been able to return home.
