SHOPPERS at Sports Direct in the UK are used to discovering well-known brand names such as Lonsdale and Kangol which are subsidiaries of Frasers (the new name for the Sports Direct Group).
Now, owner, Mike Ashley appears to want to take his businesses up a notch by buying into other classic brands with the latest purchase of shares and options in Hugo Boss at a reported €100 million.
These shares join his portfolio which includes investments in Adidas, Mulberry and Umbro as well as ownership of House of Fraser.
