MANY Alicante province footwear manufacturers have made up their minds to visit Milan in September.
They include Pikolinos, Panama Jack, Wonders and 24 Horas, sources revealed.
The Spanish Federation of Footwear Industries (FICE) has received confirmation that they intend to attend Micam, one of the sector’s most important international trade fairs.
The Milan area has been pinpointed as Covid-19’s “ground zero” in Europe but 60 per cent of the firms that visited Italy last March are returning there, even though some of their executives contracted Covid-19 there.
FICE’s marketing director Imanol Martinez explained that the fair will be held over four days and participants would be “redistributed” with staggered visits.
Buyers will be required to register in advance, indicating the date and time of their visit so the required safety distancing can be maintained, Martinez said.
