New road linking N-332 main road and CV-753 provides solution for legendary Albir traffic jams

WORK started on the new road built to ease traffic flow to Albir.
This connects the N-332 main road and the CV-753 Camino Viejo de Altea which, despite its name stops short at the entrance to Albir.
The road, which includes a new roundabout, will cost an estimated €832,991 and should be completed within six months, announced Alfaz’s Town Planning councillor Toni Such.
Constructing the much-needed road was preceded by lengthy negotiations with the central government’s Ministry of Public Works and Alicante’s provincial council, the Diputacion, Such revealed.
Building the road required the compulsory purchase of five plots of land with an area of 9,407 square metres but despite their nominal value of €130,400, Alfaz town hall finally paid out only €7,000, the councillor said.
The two-lane road, which joins the CV-753 at the Magic Robin Hood holiday park, will have a hard shoulder on both sides and pavements.
It will also cut the distance between Alfaz and the beach, Such pointed out, solving the legendary summer holdups at the traffic lights between Avenida del Albir and Cami de la Mar.
