THE National Police have reported that thanks to an international search with cooperation from Sweden and a number of Middle Eastern countries a man believed to have murdered two people on the Costa del Sol has been arrested in Dubai.

The suspect is of Danish/Iranian extraction and allegedly undertook the shooting of a member of a drug gang (nicknamed Maradona for his love of football) as he emerged from a church in the Marbella suburb of San Pedro Alcantara after attending his child’s first Holy communion in 2018.

Following this murder, he is accused of a second shooting, this time in Estepona several months later and it is understood that members of his gang were also responsible for two explosions in Malaga Province.

Having escaped a raid which caught a number of members of a ‘narco gang’ this individual went on the run, going first to Morocco and then making his way to the United Arab Emirates and it is thanks to the issue of an international arrest warrant and the involvement of both Europol and Interpol that he was finally arrested by the Dubai authorities.
