IN this instance the police have arrested 10 people who were allegedly involved in at least 19 assaults over various homes, bars and restaurants in Axarquia.
The operation, named Rutero, lasted several months and concluded that various criminals, who illegally occupied houses in Alcaucin, used their own vehicles to commit theft, however, they also rented vans when stealing larger objects.
Their theft was varied and included items such as: home appliances, tools and decorative furniture. They stored the items in the squatter houses and then used the black market to sell them on, in some instances they kept the stolen valuables to decorate their home.
One of the robberies this group committed was when they posed as police to enter a home, however, he was not credible enough and had to escape by jumping over a high wall which caused an injury to his leg.
This operation was carried out by the judicial police team in Velez-Malaga.
