PLAZA CELESTIO PONS and Calle Sor Maria Gallard in Javea have temporarily closed to traffic.
As these streets adjoin the municipal market, lorries may load and unload outside between 6am and 11am, after which hydraulic bollards will bar the way to traffic.
There will also be two parking spaces in the Plaza for pharmacy clients or stowing shopping into cars.
Accesses to Paseo David Ferrer on the Arenal beach and the Arenal-Puerto section of Avenida Mediterraneo are now traffic-free.
These closures guarantee that pedestrians can maintain physical distance from each other and prevent the spread of Covid-19, Javea Town Hall explained.  They also provide enough space to ensure that social distancing can be maintained on bar, café and restaurant terraces.
